When I graduated from the Duke University Integrative Health and Well-Being Coaching program, I was initially uncertain about which area to specialize in. However, sleep coaching found me in a way that felt both natural and essential. As I worked with clients facing a wide range of well-being challenges, it became increasingly clear that sleep disturbances were often at the root of many chronic health issues. This realization was profound, as I saw firsthand how poor sleep contributed to anxiety, burnout, weight gain, impaired cognitive function, and a variety of emotional struggles.

I noticed that many clients were doing everything right in terms of nutrition, fitness, and stress management, but they were still feeling stuck. It became apparent that without addressing sleep as a primary driver of health, these efforts weren’t yielding the transformative results they deserved. This realization sparked my passion for sleep coaching. I understood that without restorative sleep, all other health practices could be undermined.

Sleep is truly the foundation upon which everything else is built. It is the bedrock that supports physical recovery, mental clarity, emotional resilience, and metabolic balance. I chose to specialize in sleep coaching because it is such a pivotal yet often neglected pillar of overall health. The science behind sleep’s influence on the body and mind is powerful, and I felt compelled to help others tap into this critical resource for wellness.

Helping clients improve their sleep isn't just about addressing the absence of sleep—it's about recognizing the deep, holistic impact sleep has on the entire body and mind. Sleep coaching allows me to guide individuals in uncovering the root causes of their sleep disruptions and empower them with strategies to restore healthy sleep patterns. When people improve their sleep, I witness profound transformations, not only in their energy levels and health but in their ability to engage with life more fully and joyfully.

Ultimately, my decision to specialize in sleep coaching was driven by the belief that when we prioritize sleep, we unlock our fullest potential for well-being. It’s not just about getting more hours of sleep; it’s about restoring the quality of sleep that empowers us to thrive.

Having spent over a decade studying and lecturing on sleep science, my transition into sleep coaching was a natural fit. My expertise is enhanced by training from the Benson-Henry Institute’s Stress Management and Resiliency Program, certification as a Kripalu Yoga Nidra Guide and Sound Therapist, and specialization in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). My work focuses on helping individuals achieve deep, restorative sleep by addressing behavioral patterns, stress resilience, and nervous system regulation.
